Privacy policy
Student Success is run by AI Innovation Foundry, Inc. ("we"). Students who use it are usually minors, so we collect as little as we can and protect it carefully.
What we collect
- From parents and guardians: first names, email address, mobile numbers for the parent and student, the student's school, and consent to receive texts.
- From Canvas: with the Canvas access token a parent provides, we read the student's courses, grades, assignments and submission status. We don't change anything in Canvas.
- From texts: replies the student sends, such as "done 2", to mark work finished.
- From the waitlist: an email address, an optional first name, and the school district and school, used only to tell you when Student Success reaches your district.
How we use it
Only to run Student Success: to decide what goes on each day's plan, send the texts, show the family dashboard, and get in touch about the family's account. Rules decide what goes on the plan, not advertising or profiling.
What we share
We do not sell personal information. We share it only with the service providers that run the product for us, and only what each needs: our texting provider (to deliver messages), our database host and our web host.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties, except the service providers that deliver our messages.
How we protect it
- Canvas tokens are encrypted before they are stored, with a key kept apart from the database.
- Grades, assignment titles, names and phone numbers are never written to our logs.
- Each family can see only its own information.
Children
Student Success is for high school students. A parent or guardian signs up the family and consents for a student under 18. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.
How long we keep it
Grades are read from Canvas when needed and not stored. We keep account details while the family uses Student Success, and delete them within 30 days after the family asks us to or leaves.
Your choices
Reply STOP to any text to stop messages to that number. Email us to see, correct or delete your family's information, or to close your account.
